Our heat wave wont kill so many this time.

Atomizers spirting(sp) along streets in the hotest towns, jets of water have been installed too. Elderly people are visited every day, informations on how to keep cool are every where.

Reminds me when i got up every hour of the night when the boys were tiny, to give them a drink of water if they were awake and rince the damp face cloth that they slept with.

Re: Our heat wave wont kill so many this time.

I would like a bit more heat here please Kye, so blow some of it my way if you can

It is noicable when we went to Florida a few years ago how much air conditioning there was there and it was even good in the cars we rented as well , but here in the UK people dont usually have air conditioning in their houses as s we suffer greatly if there is a really hot spell.
I am lucky , I live in an old Victorian Terraced house that is over 100 years old , there is a drop down window above the front door that we can open and it managed to create a breeze throughout the house.
One thing the Victorians seemed to be good at was ventilating their houses .
I had the window restoored when we moved into the house over 20 years ago and I think I am the only person in the street that has done this .
Even when it is a still day with the movement of the traffic outside we still seem t get that cooling breeze that travels through the house.

People never seem to drink enough water in the hot weather, opting often for a fruit drink or a cup of tea. Plain water is so important .

I hope the weather breaks soon for you Kye, but lease can there be some heat and sunshine when I visit .

It is so good when people organise to make sure the dreadful thing will not happen again.
I hope the cool change comes soon.

Re: Our heat wave wont kill so many this time.

People usually know that they have to drink lots of water, 12 litres of vittel are in the boot of the car ready for our trip to UK and another 12 litres are in stock for the boys. The bottom shelf of the fridge has cooled water too which is not a must but its a habit.

Awful thing is elderly people do not feel the heat. Babies do but lots of parents dont realise.

I would like a ceiling fan in the new house living room, it seems to be cooler there at the moment as is closed with shutters all round, but we always live with windows and doors open it wont be the case next summer.

Weather will change but i am sure that the back/after season?? will be perfect.

I just had surgery on my broken leg.  The gown had ports to attach a hose and a dial for air flow from cold to hot, as you wish.  I thought this might be a neat solution instead of expensive air conditioning?  It was pretty effective.

Kye we have air conditioners in every bedroom, our house was Not designed well for getting rid of the summer heat, but on the other hand it is nice and warm in Winter.

I really love Winters here, it's the best time of year. The tomato plants are just setting fruit and we have had a few crops of spinach already. Sweet potato plants are starting to take off and the zucchini, peas and carrots are up and showing their little green heads. Winter is really great but I still sometimes miss the snow.

Birdy i need air conditioners, i love the style of Indian colony that you see in the old films.
I have just had another shower and it doesn't seem to have changed anything...you should have heard me singing louder and louder when the cold jet was on yikes
Winter most be wonderful for you but i doubt that i could stand your summer heat.

Leaving for the UK tomorrow morning, weather is warm there too but we'll be on the sea front in Essex for the next two weeks big_smile
