Re: Orange Julius recipes
Isn't that a Fast Food chain making Smoothies and Juices? Perhaps you'd get better results asking for smoothie recipes.

Never heard of it!
If it was a cocktail I would have I'm sure, but if it's FastFoodChain nonsense it will be all Greek to me!

Re: Orange Julius recipes
Something I always do when using fruit is to taste the fruit and see how sweet and juicy it is. Then you can determine how much sugar and milk . . . which I feel is probably going to net better results than following a recipe closely because all fruit varies depending on the variety and growing conditions.
We used to get orange cream sickles from the ice cream truck - basically an orange popsicle with a creamy ice cream center. It's a lovely combination, so I can see why you would want to make this type of smoothie.
Good luck!

Re: Orange Julius recipes
I will look up the copycat recipe for an Orange Julius I have sometime over this next weekend for you. It is pretty close to the real thing although you may want to tweak the vanilla or ice to orange juice ratios to suit.
Memory is hazy but I think it used orange juice, ice, skim milk powder or whey powder can't remember which and I think a dash of vanilla.
scratch that just realized the binder it is in, is next to the computer .
1 1/4 cups orange juice ( not from concentrate is my preference)
1 cup water
3 tablespoons egg white protein powder ( most nutritional supplementstores will carry this and some grocery stores do as well. Just straight whey protein powder works ok too. )
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups ice
blend everything but the ice at high speed for about half a minute or until the sugar is dissolved. Add the ice and blend til the ice is all crushed and the drink it smooth.

Re: Orange Julius recipes
I sometimes throw together Fresh Orange Juice with Banana's - Good as a hangover cure and also when you get a touch of Montezuma's Revenge.
