This reminds me of a sittuation that happened to my OH. He works as a service engineer for a belgian company that worldwide operates. He had to go to a french factory last year where he had to conduct some small changes to machinery together with the local workers there.
Friday at 11.30 OH saw a minor detail that didn't operate 100 % and said to the local guys that it would take only two hours to fix it and then the job could be closed.
Local workers said " Ah non " ...We will have lunch at 12.30 and then we stop for the weekend!!
OH tried to appeal to their workethics and  common sense : " Just two hours guys and I'll treat you to a pint afterwards ". No response. Factory closed completely so OH himself couldn't fix the job either. And he was stuck in some awful Campanile hotel for the weekend till monday before he could finish the job.

Your husband learnt in a short time what syndicates, 'the  caretakers of issues' workers representatives are capable of doing. They were worthy at a time when they fought for workers true rights in the far past....... today they are a group of big mouthed hooligans that work for a company and still gain their pay when they have private reunions then brain wash their collegues.

Sarko we know, we are used to him, his lies and promises to make France a better place to live...he is very feeble, hates the fact that people ignore him..he does the same to others, hates that his hand isn't shaken, he said that 'those that dont shake my hand wont be acknowledged by me'...recently he totally ignored a person in his own rang...

Hollande will be indefinitely worse.

Although when I think of the hassles even the smallest committees have making the right decisions, I despair 

We just keep having to fight the good fight, and hopefully meet in Paris every now and then for a coffee! 

Second and last voting today, but i am certain that we are going to be in great deception with the results announced later this evening.

A particular President we once had did a lot of harm to this country, every thing he did was bad taste, even the whisky that he sent his body guards to buy from our shop was bad taste.
