This is a pic of my housekeeper and gardener today, learning how to roast a chicken the Jamie-way with gravy and all. I bought each of them a chicken yesterday and this morning when they came to work, announced that we would be doing a cooking session instead of working today...it was great fun! I took the recipe from Jamie's Ministry of Food which is all about "pasing it on" but I was the one who learned the most valuable lesson today: when we were finished, my gardener Eric was so proud of what he had made that he told me he was going to invite all his friends over for supper tonight and share the chicken, gravy and roast potatoes with them! Even if it meant only getting a small piece, it was more important to share than to eat alone - I think he understands Jamie's philosophy better than me!
